We are currently getting the opportunity to basically re-do the entire interior of our home. We had a tree fall into our home during Hurricane Irma and cause A LOT of damage.
(More on what we’ve been learning from that disaster here)
Now, as excited as I am to make some changes to our home, I also have a serious amount of anxiety about it. It seems like a life or death situation, like if I make the wrong choice the world might stop spinning.
We’ve been furniture shopping for literally months now and STILL can’t find a sofa for our living room. We’ve even committed twice and at the last moment found out that something with that particular sofa didn’t quite work for us.
I’m about at the point of just buying a bunch of bean bags and calling it a day!
The only other room that has really been causing me a ton of stress is the playroom. I have never liked the girls playroom. It was just full of an assortment of furniture that had originally had other purposes.
I really want to be able to create an intentional play space for my girls.
We spent a good part of the last year clearing out lots of things that we didn’t need, or had too many of. Including toys. Then with the Hurricane everything that was left pretty much had to go.
So we are working with a clean slate.

The hardest part about the new design has been playroom seating. I need seating that is functional, durable and child sized. I need various types of seating as well. Chairs, sofa and floor seating. Plus it all needs to coordinate. All those stipulations are exhausting!
So while I am pulling it all our playroom seating together I wanted to share some of my inspiration with you.

I love these simple, metal chairs from the Pillowfort collection at Target.
I don’t think you could go wrong with these fuzzy anywhere chairs from Pottery Barn kids! However my husband keeps trying to tell me that play-doh matted in the fur would not be so cute… but what does he know??
Too adult? No way, right? I think these Pink Gumdrop Chairs from Land of Nod are the sweetest!
I am totally obsessed with floor pillows, these specifically because that leather handle is on point! You can snag these at Sahara Pouffe and they ship worldwide!
Remember the bean bag comment about my living room? I’m hopefully joking about that BUT beanbag chairs are totally okay in the playroom! Theres not much from Land of Nod that I don’t love!!If I thought my husband would let me get away with it I would seriously push for this charming Ektorp Loveseat from Ikea in floral! I mean how perfect for a girls playroom? Plus, its washable! Y’all know I LOVE washable things!Another really fun piece is this one from Pottery Barn Teen. You can use it as floor seating or you can grab a base to elevate it to more of a sofa feel! It comes in lots of colors and textures and you can configure it however you need.
These colors and textures on this pouf are so beautiful! Land of Nod kills it again!
Okay, yea, with so many choices I just CAN’T seem to narrow it down! I have gotten a few things though, so here is a sneak peek of what you will see when it all comes together!
Okay, okay. I know this is technically a bed but my girls fight over the one we have now. They love to just lounge and read in it or just watch TV. So I couldn’t leave it out! Plus with the new covers that DockATot just introduced you could surly find something to match your décor!
I totally scored these from Hobby Lobby a few days ago! They are the cutest in person and SUPER affordable!
So I know these don’t totally go with the things I have shown you above BUT I think a playroom needs to have a bit of whimsy!
