About Me

Are you sick of feeling so overwhelmed and stressed in motherhood that you can no longer function? Or even remember who you are as a person?

Tired, burnt out, anxious, depressed, worried, overworked, underappreciated, overlooked, worn out…. Any of these sound familiar?

Why would we want to feel this way ever much less in the midst of raising our precious little ones? Shouldn’t we be thriving during this season?

I think so, and I bet you do too.

But does this emotionally happy, content and purposeful place actually exist? CAN it exist alongside newborns, toddlers, elementary school attitudes?

Yes. I believe it can.

I’m Zhade. A stay-at-home mom to two. I stay at home by choice because I know that there is absolutely nothing that could be more meaningful in my life, or my kids lives than being with them each day. Teaching them, encouraging them, helping them to grow.

It is not always easy, heck, it’s not usually easy.

I work really, really hard to make sure that I am not wasting any moments with my girls because of those negative emotions. I fight against them every day because those negative emotions are part of life but they do not control me.

They used to. They used to rule me from the moment I work up until the moment I fell asleep.

When my oldest daughter was 9 months old we discovered a large, very rare liver tumor in her abdomen. She went through multiple surgeries, six rounds of chemotherapy, countless blood transfusions… And today she is a healthy, vibrant, wild 4-year-old.

My family went through something so radically life-changing during that period in time and how could I not share all that I have learned with you?

I realized that I had been living so unintentionally and what if my daughter had not had such a good outcome? What if I had just wasted all those moments with her?

Thankfully I never had to ask those questions. I have a second chance at living a meaningful life. One that matters. One that counts. And I want to make sure that I give you the tools to do that too.

Anxiety and Depression

These diseases do not determine your worth. They do not get to control you or determine how you live your life. I battle these two monsters every day but I am winning.

The battle may never be over but we still have the ability to fight.

I am so passionate about taking your mental health into your own hands. I suffered for a LONG time and no one in my life understood. They still don’t.

It doesn’t matter if they do or don’t though. Only you are responsible for your health. Not your husband, or your mother or your best friend. They can support you but they can not make you better.

Your kids deserve you to be better though. They deserve a strong mommy, who gets up every day and fights. Fights for herself and fights for them.

On this blog you will find strategies for coping, dealing and healing. You will find confessions and honestly. You will find someone who understands what you are going through and genuinely wants to help you.

Dealing with your anxiety and being a good parent are both made easier when you have a properly maintained home. Not just maintained, but a well-run household.

A home that is clean will help decrease your anxiety and will, in turn, make your kids feel more comfortable in their own space. I despise the “Excuse the mess, my kids are making memories” line. You can still have a clean home and have abundant amounts of time with your kids. In fact, one of my most popular posts teaches you how to have a clean home in an hour per day. That includes laundry!

I will teach you to organize your spaces to fit your lifestyle and decrease stress. I will teach you to plan for everything. EVERYTHING. So that life flows smoothly, even when the unexpected happens.

Being a stay-at-home mom means that your income is cut in half. Sure, it’s nice to say that IF you were paid for all you do you would be making 3 figures BUT nobody is actually paying us are they? Getting paid in love doesn’t count when we are discussing finances.

On this blog, I am not going to teach you how to spend 3 hours clipping coupons every week or how to stop eating cheese during the week to save money on groceries. I will not be talking about the 45 apps you can have running on your phone to make an extra $400 this month.

I’m simply going to share no-nonsense, real world, actionable ways that you can save money here and there as a mom who stays at home.

I am not a crazy healthy lady. I’m not going to shame you for using whatever sunscreen that you currently have in your closet BUT I will let you know what’s in it and what you could use instead that might be a better option.

When you have a baby with cancer it really changes how you view common household items. I never knew about the dangers until I went looking for them. All I want to do is bring you the information and let you decide for yourself.

I don’t do DIY cleaning, I am scared of using essential oils the wrong way and I still really want to buy Bath and Body Works candles even though I know they put toxins in the air. I am human just like you. My only goal is to be informed and make the BEST choices that I can for my family. I know you do too.

Here on the blog, I will share my favorite brands and companies that allow me to have a healthier home and environment for my kids.

I also share what I like to call “healthy hobbies”. Healthy hobbies are things that are good for the body, the mind and the soul.

Yes, I still watch TV but I think there are way better things I could be doing with my time.

No, I am not a super flexible yoga mom but I do think exercise is a fantastic hobby no matter what kind you are getting.

I hope this has given you a good idea of who I am. I’m just a normal mom. Well, kinda. I’m just another anxious mom trying my best to make my life and the lives of my little ones the best they can be.
