Subscription services you need to survive this mom life – Time management for moms

Time is vital as a mom. It is always in short supply and we are desperate to have more. While I can't magically make your day have more than 24 hours, I can give you a few easy ways to gain a few "lost" hours back. These subscription services are crucial in effective time management for moms Time is vital as a mom.  It is always in short supply and we are desperate to have more.  While I can’t magically make your day have more than 24 hours, I can give you a few easy ways to gain a few “lost” hours back. You know, lost hours like the ones you spend agonizing over your meal plans.  Or dragging the kids all over town to find all those odds and ends you need to keep your home in order.

In my family, we are really big on intentional living. When your child’s life is threatened you really come to see that time is the most important thing you have in life. So we make sure that time together is a priority. We make sure that we aren’t wasting our together time either.  I refuse to lose hours doing things that I could delegate to someone else.

Now our household runs the same way as everyone else’s, we still have to clean and cook and do all those not-so-fun things that involve time. However, we try to minimize the time we spend on the less important things so that we have maximum time with our little loves.

Use Subscription Services to Delegate Your Responsibilities

Mama, I know that trying to juggle all the responsibilities can get so overwhelming but if you learn to make slight adjustments to each day you will really see BIG changes in how you get to spend your time.

Planning and time management are SO important. It helps you to stay on track, stay focused and give you accountability. However, in addition to planning it’s also important to delegate. Now I don’t know about you but I love to delegate to my husband when he is home. Poopy diapers, dirty dishes, cooking dinner… and he’s generally pretty good about it. But in this instance, I am talking about a different kind of delegation.

I’m talking about automating some of the things that you probably spend a ton of needless time on. Just making a few delegated automatons can really help with the overwhelm and give you so much time back.

Meal Planning with The Dinner Daily

Totally love the idea of meal planning. Love having to only shop once every week or two. HATE having to get it all planned out.

Seriously. I hate it.

It takes FOREVER to go through the sales flyer, check coupons, decide on meals, write out the list… and honestly, my kids don’t give me enough quite time to get any of that done. I know I cant be alone?!?!

Recently I stumbled upon a company called The Dinner Daily and they do it ALL for you. The meals (that you get to approve and customize), checking sales for your stores, checking coupons and writing your list.
You can check out my full post here but honestly, it’s insanely cheap, like $1 a week and it saves me hours of time!

Bonus Tip: Now, this isn’t really my thing because I despise Wal-Mart but my parents swear by it. Some Wal-Marts and other grocery chains offer shopping services. You basically just go online, put on your grocery list and set a time to pick them up. If there were any other grocery stores in my area that offered this I would totally be doing it. That’s at least another hour a week you would save.

Amazon Prime

If you don’t have Amazon Prime you need to get it right now. Amazon has everything and with two days shipping it’s usually just easier to order those hard to find items from Amazon instead of dragging kids all over the place.

Example. Last Christmas I was hanging some footprint art on the walls and I needed plate hooks. I have no idea where you buy that sort of thing and there was no way I was dragging my two kids all over town looking for them. Just grabbed them off Amazon and they were at my house the next day.

I love to order big items from Amazon, like cases of diapers and paper towels. That way someone else has to lug it to my front door. Sorry Mail Lady! Plus if you sign up for the Family Plan you get 20% off diapers and baby food! Umm yes, please!

Amazon also has a subscribe and save program (which I do use for a few other things like my husbands deodorant) and if you have 5 or more items that you get delivered on a regular you get an additional 15% off.

Lastly, Amazon has these cool little Dash Buttons that you can basically put everywhere. You press the button when you are running low and Amazon automatically orders it for you. Running low on laundry detergent? Press the Dash button and it shows up in two days. It’s like magic.

The Grove Collaborative

I really, really like Grove. They are an auto-subscription service for household items like cleaners and beauty care. The products they offer are natural, safe and cruelty-free. They also carry popular brands live Seventh Generation, Method, and Mrs. Meyers.

You can select the items you need, set your timeframes for shipment and then forget about it. You don’t have to sign up for the VIP Membership, but I highly suggest you do. It’s only $20, and you always receive free shipping AND you get free gifts every 60-90 days. Free gifts I have received in the past are a beautiful glass reusable spray bottle, cleaning cloth and a kitchen soap dish.  Totally worth it!!
