Organized moms get more done. Organized moms are also a lot less stressed. It’s more than just having an organized silverware drawer that reduces the stress. It’s having a plan in place for each day. It’s knowing what you want to accomplish and creating a plan to make it happen. Removing all the scrambling that happens when you just “go with the flow” or “fly by the seat of your pants”.
The first thing you need to decide is WHAT it is that you want to get out of your day. Maybe you want to be able to have more time to yourself to read a book that you’ve been eyeing for the last six months. Maybe you want to spend more time with your kids in the kitchen baking. Maybe you just want to start making it a priority to get out of the house each day.
Once you’ve decided what it is that you want to be doing with your time you’ve got to decide HOW you are going to accomplish those goals.

Basically, you just need to create an action plan for each goal.
The goal is being able to read a book. The action plan might be creating a streamlined bedtime routine for your kids to give you an extra 30 min or hour each evening. Maybe you are a morning person so you plan to set your alarm 45 min early each day to read and have coffee before the kids get up.
See the point here? You can say you WANT to do something all day long but it takes ACTION to actually get it done.
I guarantee that most of us moms would complain that we cant accomplish the things we want due to time. We need more time in the day or fewer things to fill up all that time.
Organizing your week ahead of time will really help free up some of that much desired time and help you get a jump start on that goal you want to accomplish.

Daily Activities are things that I want to do with your kids each week. They are also things that you may want to do for yourself.
This might seem silly to plan out but I’ve been planning our weeks for a little over a year now and it works out so well. We never miss any fun kids events, which is really important to me especially around the holidays. It helps to make sure that we are staying active and that we are getting out of the house each day.
Now I don’t plan anything crazy, these are just our normal weekly routines. Going to the park, the children’s museum, the zoo, Disney, dance practice etc. We also add in seasonal things like strawberry picking in the spring, beach trips in the summer and every Halloween and Christmas event we can find in the fall and winter.
Cleaning will consume you if you let it. I could spend literally all day every day cleaning my house but who in the world wants to do that? I have a fantastic schedule that I follow that allows me to only spend ONE HOUR each day cleaning. That includes laundry and dishes!

The trick here is it has to be done every single day. Which is why cleaning needs to be a thing that you plan. When you skip a day, that work gets added to the next day and before you know it you are spending a whole Saturday cleaning your house and catching up on 92 loads of laundry. Don’t be that person. Schedule your cleaning.
Meal planning is like the most important thing ever! Taking kids to the grocery store is miserable and nobody wants to do this more than once a week. Am I right?
Listening to kids crying about being hungry the moment their little eyes open in the morning is brutal and should be avoided at all costs. Planning ahead gives you time to just throw together whatever it was you planned on without really needing to be 100% awake yet.
When you meal plan you also get to skip that “what do you want for dinner?” conversation where you just go back and forth with “I don’t knows”.
My two favorite meal planning resources are my own Breakfast Staples Plan and The Dinner Daily meal planning service. The Dinner Daily is like $1.50 a week and they create custom-tailored dinner plans for you based on your local store, the stores sales and what coupons are available. Plus you can set your own dietary preferences. Then each week the meal plan, shopping list, and coupons list just magically pop into your inbox like magic. Seriously, its a lifesaver.
These are those extra things that you NEED to get done every week. Maybe its making calls to schedule dentist appointments or dropping some clothes off at the dry cleaner.
Breaking your to-dos down by day will make it all a lot more manageable. It can also help you plan to save even more time if some of your regular tasks cross paths with something on your to-do list.
Maybe the dry cleaner is right next to your daughters dance studio. Plan on taking the dry cleaning on dance day instead of making two trips to that area.
Add to-dos to your list as needed so you can complete them over the week instead of feeling like it all has to get done at once. Unless it is time sensitive of course. When you have a plan in place though, there seem to be a lot fewer instances of time-sensitive issues popping up.
